Description
Citrus bergamia
Bergamot Essential Oil is cold-pressed from the peel of the bergamot fruit. It possesses a fresh, citrus aroma with sweet, floral undertones that is both uplifting and calming. Just a drop or two of Bergamot Essential Oil can add complexity and balance to any blend, making it one of the most versatile and beloved essential oils in aromatherapy and a signature note in classic perfumery.
Bergamot Essential Oil can be useful in diffuser blends intended to help ease anxiety, depression, stress, and insomnia. It is valued for its balancing and antiseptic properties and is often used in diluted topical applications to support oily and acne-prone skin, minor infections, and emotional wellbeing. Bergamot is phototoxic and should not be applied to skin that will be exposed to sunlight within 12 hours unless using a bergapten-free (FCF) version (see safety notes below).
Emotionally, Bergamot Essential Oil is uniquely both uplifting and calming, helping to ease anxiety, depression, anger, and stress, while promoting feelings of joy, confidence, and emotional balance during times of sadness or tension.
